About Massage

Massage is an effective way help heal the body, release pain, tension, and holding patterns that limit mobility and happiness in day to day life.

What is Swedish Massage?

If your goal is relaxation, Swedish is for you. Swedish technique is characterized by long, gliding strokes to increase circulation of blood and lymph, to rehydrate muscles and to flush out toxins. Maybe you're sore from a workout. Maybe you just want your muscles to feel warm and stretched out and yummy. Maybe you just want to chill out and melt into the table. Swedish massage is great for all of that.

What is Deep Tissue Massage?

For those in pain, deep tissue is a more focused, deeper work. Whether you have chronic pain, a repetitive stress injury or you just woke up sore we can work together to relieve tension and coax muscles that are locked up to relax. There's a common misconception that deep tissue massage is supposed to hurt - there's good pain and there's bad pain. The technique used is focused on sinking into the muscles, not grinding or pounding on them. I communicate with you as we go so we can truly work together to loosen you up not beat you up.  You may feel sore after a session but you will NOT be bruised or injured.

About Therapist David Bow

As an art school student who loved to draw Dave was always fascinated by anatomy. He would study textbooks to try and understand how muscles interacted and fit together. The human body is a complex network of codependent systems that need bodywork through touch to continue functioning at peak condition. Dave realized pretty young that an empathetic, healing touch was a gift he wanted to cultivate and enrolled in school at Hands On Healing Institute in Tujunga, CA. Dave have spent years now studying different massage modalities and found that no matter your lifestyle - active, sedentary, vegan, omnivore - receiving regular bodywork improves quality of life. Muscle health, circulation, digestion, mood... all of our bodily functions are connected and, when one part is out of whack, the whole system feels imbalanced. We all deserve to feel balanced. We all deserve to feel better.

Outside of working as a CMT Dave a musician and artist and organizes events promoting social justice and local artists within the LA DIY community.
